Pastor Al serves Emmanuel part-time along with St. Paul's Lutheran Church, West Frankfort, IL.       He enjoys preparing easy-to-follow worship services, and preaching and teaching God's Word in a conversational style, making a special effort to "translate" the profound truths revealed in the Bible into everyday language with examples from daily life. He has been married to Donna for 43 years. They have one son, Pastor Kory Janneke, and six grandchildren.
